 fun when not frustrated by controls March 14, 2010

Got this for my 6 and 8 yr old horse-crazy daughters. I am about to make this game "disappear". It has resulted in non-stop whining and shouting at the TV. They are driven to play it because they love the story and tasks, but within minutes they are crying and frustrated because they can't control the horse. Controlling the horse uses a combination of the nunchuk and wii remote and it is not very easy. My husband and I have both tried and found it difficult, but do-able. But we are adults...for kids, it seems very frustrating. We have Barnyard and Pirates of the Caribbean, which use similar controls, and they are able to work those well enough, so it must be something about this game. I would not recommend this for young kids.

This game is the best wii game I have ever played! You are Lily and you have to save your ranch by earning money in the competitions. Overall this game is one of the best wii games ever. Its good for 8 to 12 year old girls and boys. The only confusing part is when you have to go to the trainers and your compass disapears. Thats not to confusing though. I just look at the map to see which way to go if I'm not sure if I'm going the right way. You can acsess the map by pressing the 1 button. I will probaly take you about a week to finish the whole game, but I'm not sure because I haven't finished the game yet. Ohh ya. I almost forgot! Another thing that is kind of difficult is getting Liam down from the roof. All you have to do is get the stool and a saw. Thats all I can tell you for now. I will report more when I get a little farther into the game.

Somewhat difficult to get the horse to move at times. The 10 and 6 year old have really enjoyed this game and I think it is a very good learning tool for preparing a child for a real horse.

My daughter loves this but gets frustrated when she can't find the instructors and she wants to do something but the game makes her answer the phone or clean the horse first. It would also be nice if she could use her feet to control the horse like real riders should.

My daughter likes this game and I think it is enjoyable as well. You feel like you are ride the horse because of the controls. It is nice that it is like a story game and not just caring for a horse. It is a shame since it is a wii game the the character don't talk during the game only in the game movies that kid of brings the game down and the wii is suppose to be so top notch with its mega memory and stuff I would think characters talk throughout the game wouldn't be a problem. Would I get this game again? Yes for my daughter she likes animals for myself not as it lacks action and story telling but it is a good game for animal loving girls and even a boy can enjoy it to if they like animals.
