1 out of 5 stars BRUSHING IS IMPOSSIBLE   June 26, 2010
Cindy Parks (Texas)

This game really makes me mad. I'll be darned if I can get the brushing to work on this thing. I've gone online and it would appear to be a constant in both versions. Most people have a lot of trouble with the brushing. It is a very minor part of the game, in theory, but you can't get past it and it doesn't make any sense. I hate this game. I'm taking it back.

5 out of 5 stars she loves this game!   January 23, 2010
A. Carter (Seattle, WA)
My 7 year-old researched horse games for Wii and chose Petz Horsez 2. She purchased the game with money she received from relatives for Christmas. Raising a horse from a foal is her favorite aspect becuase it feels realistic. She enjoys the story mode of the game. The mix of training and competition holds her attention for hours. I have to pry the Wii remote from her hands every time she plays. She tells me that the jumping competitions are her most favorite.

It took a lot of thinking for her to decide what she doesn't like about this game. The main problem she encountered was learning to turn left. It took her about a week's worth of gaming sessions to get it right. She would like it to have a multiplayer mode so she and her friends could compete against each other.

4 out of 5 stars For the Kids.   January 10, 2010

I bought this game for my daughter who was age 7. She loves the game and played the game for several months before wanting another game. Would recommend to kids above age 6.

4 out of 5 stars If You Like Horses this is a Good Game   January 2, 2010

This game is okay, but after a while you get kinda bored with it. You raise foals and take care of horses, but you have to be consistent with how much you play, because the foals get sick if you don't play for a long time.

1 out of 5 stars B-O-R-I-N-G.... very dissappointing.   July 2, 2009

If you are over six years old, do NOT buy this game. I'm 14 and found this extremely boring. I finished the story in a day, and had done all there was to do on the game after three days. The graphics were TERRIBLE! The foals looked more like giraffe weevils with really long legs and hair. They have this kink in their neck where it's at an odd angle, and the legs don't bend right at all... it's actually bordering on creepy. After the story line is over (which is very quickly), you just keep getting the same messages from the other characters. The washing your horse activity was like a terrible, cheapy imitation of Nintendogs.
The weird thing is that it's for kids less than seven, but some of the activities are complicated (brush for a certain time with the red brush... don't brush too long! Brush a certain time with the blue brush... don't brush too short!) Ugh. Also cleaning the stables is so tedious... first you have to pick up every piece of waste. Then you have to lay down new straw. about (no joke) 40 times, each pitchforkful having to go back to the original bale of hay. This is a waste of your money. There are dramatic happenings within the storyline, which keep it interesting for a little bit, like the barn burning... you have to put the fire out so your horses don't get hurt. It's almost impossible NOT to put the fire out.
Also, (I do understand this is *only* a ds) when you breed your horses it isn't a thing like the PC Dogz and Catz. It gives you a screen with three horses that tells you to pick a mare for your horse to pair off with. Then:
*TADA!*
You instantly have a foal. And no exciting random color combinations... it's one of the colors you can buy at the store. In my case, I got the same color foal I already had in my stables. The foals also get sick ever other second, and they say you can cure the foal yourself, or send it to the Imagine animal doctor. (you have to buy this game if you want to send your foal there).

So over all I'd say:

Pros: Are there any? lol. The pros are:

-Fun game for a very young person
-requires hand-eye co-ordination
-You can change the outfits of the character you are controlling

Cons:

-Junky, corny dramatic music (forgot to mention that didn't I)
-Terrible graphics
-Short storyline
-No color variations in the horses when you breed them
-Your foals get sick almost every time you visit them.
-Activities get very tedious.

So, I understand I just let loose a big long complaint, and thanks for reading it... but I just thought I'd put what I found out there, to let you guys know before you buy. :)
