A Decent Game November 30, 2009 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I really like this game. For the first 20 minutes or so it's fun. You clean, feed, receive, and take care of animals. You have to get on your DS often though or your fish will die quickly. Plus Naming your fish takes FOREVER! But after a while this game gets pretty boring overall. Although it never ends like Imagine games do so it's o pretty decent game.
For Younger Players November 5, 2009 Andee (Idaho) 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
My 7 year old son has a passion for anything ocean related...and he LOVES this game. I've watched him play it and to me it seems boring, but he would play it for hours on end if I let him. I think this game is geared more toward the younger players. It was well worth the money.
Total yawn February 15, 2009 Astronerd121 (Colorado) 4 out of 12 found this review helpful
I am a twelve year old ocean lover who bought this game thinking that it would be like zoo tycoon goes marine. Sadly, I was wrong. This game is empty, pointless and utterly ridiculous. Who ever heard of keeping a sperm whale in a fish tank? Or an oar fish? (extremely rare) How about four orcas? At first I was OK with this ridiculous feature, but as time wore on I found it harder and harder to put up with. Since the only way to unlock new animals is to play for a while, the game seems pretty boring. I wanted to have sharks, but you don't start with sharks so you have to play which is extremely mundane. The animals don't have to be fed or their tanks cleaned. They aren't even fun to watch. The sea horses just sit there and the orcas move in never ending circles. The animation isn't spectacular either.
Just as I was about to give up and toss the game aside, I had a bright idea. Why not put a orca and penguin together? If can't get some good animals, maybe I can get some good Jaws action. But that was a disapointment too. All that happens is a note simply flashes across the top telling you that penguin 4 as been eaten. No blood, gore or anything.
Over all this game was disappointing and I wouldn't reccomend it.
That's it? January 20, 2009 eLina (Los Angeles, CA) 0 out of 4 found this review helpful
I was pretty excited to play this game after seeing the trailer. I love marine animals and so I thought this game would be perfect, but it was very limited. Very basic. It gets boring quickly. Feels under-developed.
This game rocks.. I love it! November 26, 2008 4 out of 7 found this review helpful
I had the original aquarium by DS and loved it... But when i found out there was a fantasy aquarium, I FREAKED OUT! Fantasy aquarium is the best game I have ever played in my entire life. It's really fun to take care of your little sea creatures and wonder what you will unlock next. The animals are very realistic.( my favorite is the oarfish. And yes, there really is such thing as an oarfish) BUT... If you don't have an interest in ocean life, you may find this game really boring. You really have to like fish and stuff to like this game ( I do!) (:
