1 out of 5 stars you get what you pay for   September 1, 2010

mad catz has a history of pumping money into marketing bad products and this stick is a model of their consistency. out of the box the product felt cheap and flimsy but it worked well at least. then after only a month some of the buttons became unresponsive and would miss about 10% of my inputs unless i mashed the button or just hit them hard. my biggest gripe is how loose the stick itself feels. i'm not a fan of loose sticks and it just added to the cheap feeling. you HAVE to mod this stick if you buy it. for a budget stick that requires no mods and works well i recommend the hori fightstick ex2. i've had the hori stick for about 5 months and it's still as functional as the day i bought it.

5 out of 5 stars killer stick   August 27, 2010

This is a high end stick for the serious player. great button and stick response, very sturdy and heavy unit. After doing a lot of research, I settled on this stick and am not disappointed. It is the equivalent of going to an arcade, chopping off the control panel, and bringing it home. Yes, it's that good.

3 out of 5 stars Good first stick   August 22, 2010

For the price this is a great first stick if you are just getting into fighting games and want to try a stick out. The build quality of the board is very solid and it has a good weight. However, the buttons and stick WILL need to be replaced with better Sanwa parts. After about a week of use, my buttons started getting stuck and require me to hit them precisely in the center. The stick still works fine, but it does not feel as accurate when compared to a Sanwa one.

If you want to save some money get this stick, but if you're really serious about fighting games and don't want to replace parts yourself, go with the Tournament Edition.

5 out of 5 stars Excellent starter stick   August 5, 2010

Can't really complain, for $50 this is a great fightstick to start out with. If you enjoy it, it is also a really easy stick to mod with better parts as well. Highly recommend to any fighting game fans out there.

One important thing to note, out of box this stick has a 4 way gate. As stated above its easy enough to open the thing up and get yourself an 8 gate if that really matters to you.

4 out of 5 stars PS3 Street Fighter stick   August 4, 2010

This fight stick is great over all with only a few flaws. The main complaint was the mobility of the product. By mobility I mean that it is not in a stationary rest position like in an actual arcade. That is why to get the most out of this product one needs to buy something that the fight stick can mount to. That something doesen't have to be welded but at least provide for good grip for the stick to adhere to. Over all however I was happy with the service, delivery, and the product! BTW there's only one real way to play fighting games, that is with a fight stick! That's why any one who understands fight games will get the most gratifying experience with this stick. You will also save a lot of money in the process.
