MW2 Controller is a Piece of Crap June 3, 2010 Brenda Ziegler (Wisconsin) I bought this for my son and we got screwed over.
First of all the controller was manufactured by the dumbest company ever "MadCatz" When I opened the package it was already scratched all over. Big scuffs in the corners gave it a bad feel. The sound quality when people spoke to me online was horrible. It sounded like they were blowing into the mic as they were talking. It wasn't because of my mic because I tried it with 3 different mics. The MadCatz company used the cheapest material they could find. All the modified features on the controller are cool and all but not helpful. Take my advice and don't waste your money or your time thinking about purchasing this product, because i did and I got screwed over.
Everyone has an opinion. May 29, 2010 S. Boss (Earth) I have had this controller for about a month now, and I must say that I really enjoy using it.When I first recieved it the left stick was getting stuck when I pushed it forward. So (naturally) I opened it up to see what was wrong, turns out one of the led lights had moved a bit and was causing the problem. I simply pushed it back in place and have had no problems since. While I do not suggest doing this, I was happy that my problem was fixed without having to return it.I will list the pros and cons that I have found, and hope it will be helpful to you.
PROS:
-The look, finish, and feel of the controller are excellent.
-The light up sticks look sweet, I guess I'm a sucker for that piece of bling bling.
-It seems very responsive, just as much or better than any microsoft controllers I've used.
-It is connected with a cord. WHAT!? I know that must seem crazy to most people, but I am tired of replacing batteries when I'm only sitting four or five feet away from my console.I know I could remedy my problem with rechargable batteries or the charge kit, but my old controller was a first generation(got it with my 360)and it was not responding to my liking any more, so this option gave me a fix without having to buy a new controller and some type of rechargable battery.
CONS:
-The ergonomics. Microsoft has a perfectly sculpted controller. You put it in your hands and it's meant to be. This controller is not as magic. As you have probably read the right and left bumpers are a little out of the way, but I should note, that I do not feel like it has impeded my gaming and I reach them with no problem.
-The combat buttons are mostly useless. They are not placed in a user friendly place, so even though I bought it partly because of these I cannot use them as I would have liked. Oddly my left hand falls into position to use the left combat button which I use all the time for sprinting.
-The Price. Amazon was the best deal I found for the dark camo color. But retail seems a bit pricey for the cons that I have listed.
In conclusion, I have had good success with this controller. I love the looks and the responsiveness, the latter being my reason for searching out a new controller. The ergonomics are not perfect but I have gotten used to them pretty quickly. I recomend giving it a try, and if you are not happy, return it. I am satisfied I have made a good choice in controllers, but you must decide for yourself.
cool controller May 25, 2010 Trent Roberts they need to advertise a little better on that its a madcatz. not a madcatz fan but the controller isnt to bad, kind small for the hands
Controller May 14, 2010 C.S. (New Jersey) Purchased this controller for my son. He loves it and we are not having any problems with it.
Pointless May 8, 2010 D. Anders (Las Vegas, NV) MadCatz should have put more time into their design.Combat Button placement is terrible and they become useless and Just recently my right thumbstick has gotten stuck and it is virtually impossible to play with the controller. Overall Very poor execution by madcatz and as usual disappointment from another mad catz product.
So I bought this controller because I needed a wired controller and I thought the idea of the combat buttons was awesome. Here are some pros and cons, but overall it's not worht the price.
PROS:
1. The thing looks amazing. The camo is awesome as is the light up sticks(if they didnt get the stick stuck).
2. Idea of the combat buttons is cool.
3. Pistol Grips work well.
4. Triggers. When I first got the controller I hated the triggers. they were stiff and hard to use. But after a while they have become no different from the normal trigger.
CONS:
1. Extremely hard to reach the combat buttons during gameplay. I find myself sticking with the regular buttons when under pressure from enemies.
2. PLASTIC thumbsticks. Unlike the Regular Xbox 360 controller, which has rubber sticks, this controller's sticks are made of plastic. Stupidest idea ever. I constantly find my fingers slipping off of the thumbsticks.
3.It's a little stiff and hard to get used to. I've had it for about a week and I have found the triggers to be stiff and this controller needs at least a week until you will start warming up to it.
Overall, for a wired controller, not worth the price unless, like me, you have a discount or really need a controller.
